Michael Slezak included Ricky in his Entertainment Weekly Power 14 List - despite Ricky no longer being a contestant on the Show. Ricky is currently ranked 13th, above Jasmine Murray who is in the Top 12! Now that is FUNNY, hilarious, awesome, and any other word that would be synonymous with the aforementioned adjectives!

Well I for one blocked ever watching Idol and I’m still angry! iT’S still a huge loss and all I have bveen watching are his 2 somgs he did. I miss him!

didn’t watch idol but read the reviews. less than a handfull of good performances. ricky would have rocked it.
anoop didn’t perform well, from what i read, but he is safe.
we’ll see how the ‘commercial’ packages go.

I think it’s hysterically funny that Ricky continues to list in the power rankings of current Idol contestants - it was a huge mistake of the producers when they went out of their way to ignore Ricky and downplay his obvious talent. AI’s attempts to do so were awkward and almost comical. You think they’re noticing now??? I, for one, am no longer watching the show (had been following this since Season 1) because of the decision this year to “cast” the final 12/13 rather than basing it on a true competition based on real and shown talent.

In a today’s Newsday article Simon admits “It’s fine being artistic, just not on this show.”
Now we know Ricky along had no chance moving on to the Top 13. He was used!

And what’s even more hysterical is now they have the new judges ’save’ rule to save a contestant from an early departure. Too bad they didn’t have used that during the group rounds! Heck, why don’t they use it now and bring Ricky back!!

Rick, there’s always next season to look foward to; keep on singing because you should have been selected for the top thirteen? Check out some Boz Scaggs, he’s a singer/songwiter from the 70’s but your styles fit perfectly. Keep your nose up high and good luck to you in the future.

My commentary- the top 13- three of the four wildcards- Anoop, Megan and Jasmine (of which two of these were ridiculous performances)- had the worst performances of the evening.
The Wild Card used to be about getting the most talent into the competition.

You’re going to miss March Madness in Carolina. Does that bum you out?
The last Carolina-Duke game, we were sitting in our hotel room, me and Ricky Braddy, who is a big North Carolina fan, and suddenly ESPN blacked out. I was pacing back and forth in my room for two hours. I don’t know what I’m going to do about not being in Chapel Hill for March Madness.

Anything new on the Ricky front? I haven’t heard any confirmation of his appearance in the Ellen show. Any national feedback? I’ve seen it mentioned by some posters on other sites that Ricky has been really touched by the outpouring in support he’s been receiving nationally. Any confirmation of this from someone in-the-know on this site?

I noticed that you have given out emails of possible shows that might have Ricky on. I would suggest everyone email Mike Huckabee huckmail@foxnews.com. He has a show on FoxNews and he almost always has someone on to sing at the end.

Ricky got robbed big time man! He would have given Danny a run for his money if he made the top 13. They selected mediocre singers like Jasmine and Megan. They included an extra slot but they gave it to Anoop who has performed below average in all his peformances to date while Ricky was flawless. EW.com is still getting poll numbers from Ricky coming in and he is currently tied for 6th place (with Kris) for favorite American Idol.
No face time is usually a kiss of death for a contestant and the producers somehow thinks he doesn’t have enough a compelling story to tell. Maybe he should have concocted a story like his pet dog or cat just died so he could be featured in the early rounds…lol. So unfair. Good for Kris though he also had virtually zero face time but he managed to get top 3 because he was cast in the weakest group. Also, Michael’s story got him the 3rd spot over Anoop in group 1. If Anoop made the top 3, I really think that they would have selected Ricky as the 13th finalist.

Oh yeah… they think Ricky is boring. Well, Carrie Underwood lacked personality (and Kelly too but she improved as the weeks went on) even lacked stage presence but she became the American Idol.

Yeah- I wish American Idol didn’t have him under such wraps that we could not at least get some word from Ricky. We would just love to know how he at least feels and to know how he feels about his fans.

ditto, JD. I would like to know if Ricky must wait 3 months after the show/finale or the tour to do anything. It would be great if could at least chat with fans on other things. Anway, I hope he is using this time setting things up.

I miss Ricky on American Idol so much. He deserved to be in the top 13. The judges wanted a “package” but I find myself downloading Ricky’s two songs from itunes not the ones from the “packages.” Can’t wait for Ricky to make his first CD.

I liked Ricky until he started talking trash about Wicked and Adam. I thought he was talented and I would have bought his music but now he can kiss my backside.
